MTN has launched the MTN Xtrabyte a new service that allows MTN subscribers to borrow data and pay back later.

Yes you can also use your borrowed MTN Xtratime to subscribe for additional data, but the advantage of MTN Xtrabyte over the MTN Xtratime when it comes to data services is that the MTN Xtrabyte allows you a faster opportunity to borrow data directly instead of borrowing airtime first from Xtratime and then subscribing for additional data.

With MTN Xtrabyte MTN is ensuring that subscribers carry out seamless data services with little or no interruptions.

Data allocation on MTN Xtrabyte are repaid to MTN with an interest of 10% as can be seen from the image below showing the Xtrabyte bundles, prices and validity periods.

Note that for MTN subscribers to qualify for MTN Xtrabyte data, they must have least met the following conditions;

·     They must have registered their SIMs

·     They must have been active on the network for at least 3 months

·     And subscribers main account balance must be between N0 and N12

Now to borrow data on your MTN line as a prepaid subscriber all you need to do is to check the amount of data that you are allowed to borrow at any particular instant by dialling the code *606# and replying with 1.

The finally you can borrow the amount of data that you are qualified for by dialling *606# and then replying with 2.

Note that any airtime that you recharge thereafter will be deducted to the tune of your borrowed data amount.
